About Barclay Barrios

Barrios is a professor and academic administrator at Florida Atlantic University, where his work focuses on equity, pedagogy, and student success. He is the author of widely used textbooks in composition and rhetoric, including Emerging: Contemporary Readings for Writers (now in its fifth edition) and Intelligence: A Bedford Spotlight Reader. He holds a PhD in English from Rutgers University.
As Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies and Broward Campuses for FAU's Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters, he oversees the undergraduate experience for thousands of students — from recruitment and advising to degree completion and equity initiatives.
