Border Experiments
This site uses only one image, the logo above. All other graphical
elements are generated through the various border settings
possible in cascading style sheets, hence "border experiments."
The design came to me while meandering through Microsoft's
search in search of a fix for my misbehaving Internet Explorer. I noticed
a button effect like the links on the main page. I don't know
why, but it struck me: hey, that's not an image rollover!
In one second I wondered how they did it, in the next the
answer came thundering down one me: D'oh! Border settings
in style sheets!
The rest is, as they say, history.
In order to see the full effect of this design, you'll need
a 6+ generation browser, one that's compliant with style sheet
specifications. This site had been tested with IE6, NN7.1,
Mozilla, and Firefox (a recent favorite). |
