Any internship that involves writing, however, will generally qualify
for the Writing Internship, and you are encouraged to investigate all
available opportunities that might interest you. You can find out about
available internships through the Career Services Office on your campus.
See the Career Services
Web site for details: http://careerservices.rutgers.edu/. You should especially
take a look at the Career
Services Internships page (http://careerservices.rutgers.edu/internships.html),
which includes links to placement information and to advice on applying
for an internship.
Since applying for an internship should be taken as seriously as applying
for a job, we encourage you to make use of the help offered by the Career
Services office on your campus. The New
Jersey Internship Guide that the Career Services office has prepared
contains practically all the information a student needs to obtain a good
placement. The Rutgers Libraries' Career
and Employment Resource Guide also provides links to useful resources
for students.
The Internship Director is happy to assist you in finding a good placement.
Please feel free to contact the Internship Director to discuss good placements
and to get advice and assistance with letters and resumes:
Our office will be glad to help you on an individual basis. Please call
to make an appointment. However, you must remember that you are ultimately
responsible for securing a placement. The English Department and Writing
Program cannot guarantee that every student will obtain a placement that
is to their satisfaction.
