Tech Help

There are (obviously) a number of technical facets to this class. Some of them may seem old hat to you, some of them you will pick up quickly, but for some of them you might need some help. This is the first place to look for that help.

One good place to start is the Instructional Technology page, which has handouts on just about everything we will be using in this class. But here's some quick help for things you might need:

  • Download the Adobe Acrobat Reader : I'll be using PDF to grade your papers and distribute any handouts or sample student work, so if you don't have it yet, be sure to download a copy from Adobe. And, hey, it's free!
  • Instructions on Using the Forums : instructions for using the forums, though you may want the easily printable version available on the Instructional Technology page instead.
  • Saving Files as RTF : my preference is to get get your work in Microsoft Word, but if you have a Mac or some Linux box, or like WordPerfect, here are instructions on getting stuff into RTF.

I think that covers things, though something in me says I forgot something. Let me know and I will put more tech help up here.
