Howdy all, and welcome to Expository Writing Online, or, as we like to call it, e101. My name is Barclay Barrios, and I will be your instructor for this semester. This area on the main page will highlight important news and reminders, but the section you'll really want to pay attention to is just below. "Today's Class" will list everything you need to do for each class.

Just a quick update. I've removed myself from access to the Student Safe House sub-forum, so now you really can say whatever you want. Once the whole class is here and I have your forum user names, I'll close the forum to only you guys.

Barclay drops the ball. Sorry, guys, I did not get a chance to work on the assignment in time to get it posted this weekend. I had emails from a couple of you asking for it, so I feel extra bad. The assignment WILL be up around class time Tuesday (possibly tomorrow night). The good news is that for this first paper, I comment on rough drafts, so you get an extra boost there. Plus, in terms of final grades, the first paper (while not meaningless) is the least significant. Again, apologies. I'm trying to juggle this class just like the rest of you :(

I've made some changes in the forum. First off, the Student Safe House can now only be access by all fo you, so it is your totally private space. Second, you are all now in a custom user group so I can email you all through the forum (let me know if thise causes any problems). Third, I created a sub-forum for posting all papers. Please use that for all drafts and finals, to keep people from stealing your work.

IMPORTANT!! Two students have reported erros when trying to open the commented PDF drafts. If you are able to open yours, please let me know. If you aren't, it's even more important that you let me know so I can figure out what needs to be done about this.

CLASS LATE!! I've been under the gun on a large and important project AND I was in a meeting all morning, so papers will be returned, peer revision will be explained, and called will be posted tomorrow. Rough drafts are due by 8PM tomorrow.

D'oh! I got so wrapped up in that project, that I didn't get around to the April 04's class. My apologies. I do see, however, that people followed peer revision instructions as posted in the forum. More on that today.
