DW: Introduction

Discimus Agere Agendo. It was my high school motto, and it means "We learn to do by doing." It's time for you all to start learning Dreamweaver. Unfortunately, the only way to really learn it, the only way to really learn any piece of software, is to dive right in. So, today, we're going to toss you into some tutorials.

Here are the goals for today, what you should know by the end of class:

  1. How to define a site in Dreamweaver and publish pages to your eden account.
  2. How to create and save a new file.
  3. How to set basic page properties.
  4. How to make a basic table.
  5. How to make basic links.
  6. How to make basic text format changes.

The end result of today's class, or what you need to finish for our next class, is an annotated links page with links related to your final project. So, you'll be starting the research you need for the final project as well as practicing from basics with DW.

OK. Now, many of you have some (or a lot) of experience with DW. If you already know how to use the program, go right to the actual assignment. Otherwise, let's start with some tutorials.
